Give Me Your Reason To Believe.

OK, so now is the time for the great MCR vacation, including the Philly trip yesterday. Read, enjoy, comment, ... and bring the suitcase... or the antelope gets it.

Day 1:
I left Altoona, Pennsylvania (my hometown) && headed for Ohio to meet up with painawayfromme who was meeting me at the Dayton bus stop. Once we met up, we drove to Cincinnati, her hometown, I had my first IHop experience. This part is really interesting to you, right? Probably not, but I'm writing it for my own memories all the same so deal. So we caught up && after morning had already completely settled in, we went to her house && slept for most of the day.

Day 2:
We woke up mid-afternoon, and after much getting ready we went out to the mall. Then we drove to Kentucky where I had my first White Castle experience. Remember, I'm from Altoona... there are nothing but Denny's && King's as far as the eye can see. After that is the good part. We went to this awesome outdoor mall place, where there was a Starbucks that had a balcony. We got coffee and went out. Night had taken over && we were the only people on the balcony and I saw how beautiful the city of Cincinnati was.

After that breathtaking view && all the wonderfulness of Starbucks, we headed back to her place, where we feasted on fried food && watched the greatest movie of all time, Anchorman. Oh, I also made a new bff in her kitty.

Day 3:
Bright && early in the morning, we left for Chicago with the beloved help of TomTom, which was later the artist formally known as TomTom && was changed to Gary TomTom. Why? Because he's gotta do us like that. So we spent the early day road tripping && enjoying the eternal greatness of 80's anthems, including REO Speedwagon && all the Bon Joni && Journey one could stand. (And yes, this was basically all from my ipod haha). At one point we drove through Gary, Indiana, which made me break into a showtune (anyone?), but we safely made it to Chicago.

We checked into the hotel and got ourselves looking nice, && called a cab for the venue for MCR concert #1. This is an important thing to remember, because cabs in Chicago made very important roles in our Chicago trip. So we got to the venue && headed inside.

Drive By played first. Now after seeing them multiple times, I'm going to be honest, I'm not even the slightest bit into this band. I mean, it's cool if whoever is reading this is, but this is my journal && I'm going to be honest. I don't want to say they suck, but they definitely, in my opinion, are not on the level musically they should be to be doing a tour with a major band. They sound like a local band that just started playing gigs.

Next was Billy Talent. I had never heard a song before by them until this concert. It took... maybe less than 10 seconds before they kicked my ass so hard I knew I would forever be a fan. I. Fucking. Loved. Billy. Talent. They were so great live && the frontman was perfect vocally. The song each night that I thought stuck out the most was "Fallen Leaves", which is now my song obsession. You know a band is good when they win you over with their live performance before you ever hear a song by them recorded.

Then of course was the face melting My Chemical Romance. This, of course, was not my first time seeing them, but if anything they were better than I remembered. Then again, every time I see them seems better than the last time. At first Heather && I were in the pit, but the Chicago pit was a bit much for us, so after about four songs we completely lost one another && watched the concert alone. That sucked haha. It sucked even more afterwards until we found one another again.

After we met up, we walked a bit to save some cab fare. We took a small detour in a drugstore, which I believe was Walgreen's, then in true nature of Jiggy && Lero concert traveling, we got alcohol. Then we stopped at McDonald's, && although I can't remember the conversation entirely, I do remember we talked about Ray Toro for longer than is natural. But come on, he's Ray Toro. So Heather had me test my cab hailing skills, which were as always intact, && we headed back to our hotel && drank. I might also add that I have one major THING with hotels. I love to do acrobatics on the beds. I tested this every single night, starting with this night. If they gave gold medals for crashing face first onto a bed, I'd be a huge fuckin' sports athlete. Oh! We also watched the Office, because no matter where you are, you need the JAM love.

Day 4:
Once we got up && ready, we stopped at the reception desk && asked about how to use the L train. We didn't want to take a cab into downtown but we wanted to go to UNO's && get deep dish pizza. After a slightly confusing direction session we headed to the station && got on. Now, neither of us really thought to ask how to get from downtown to the venue. Remember that. So we get downtown && with just a little more confusion, we made our way into UNO's. All I have to say is this: I'm open to trying anything, especially pizza. But I like my NY style. Deep dish is not my thing. It was cool to be in the atmosphere though, so it wasn't a loss.

We got back to the train && got lost. I mean, we are smart, sensible human beings, && I have absolutely NO problem navigating the NY subway system, but this place is just insane. They don't even have full maps to see where you're going. It took us about 90 million years but we finally saw the venue && gave our silent thanks to the powers that be. This night, like the night before, did not disappoint. When we walked in we noticed a world's most hated member, no not that one! HeyChris of course. And I'm not trying to start any drama at all, but I am an asshole a little && I got a picture with him.

He said, "Hey, I'm Chris."
And I said, "Hey, I know!"

So then was show time again. This time we learned from our mistakes. We didn't get in the pit, and we didn't separate!

After the concert, we again went to our hotel to drink. This night, however, we didn't have as much as we liked, so very VERY late in the evening, we got a cab && asked the driver, with the last name Hussein, to see if he could find a bar open to buy some beer. As we drove around, Heather would jump out to try a place, && Mr. Creep would hit on me. At one point we pulled over to a side parking lot, turned his lights off, grabbed my hand && started kissing it. I can't not begin to describe how creeped out I was. Then he started to do the same to Heather. We got a little freaked && asked to go back to the hotel. On the bright side, because he seriously drove us around forever, more or less against our will, he told us we could pay what we wanted. The amount said 50 some dollars, he got like... 10. Fuck you for trying to be a sexual predator, Mr. Hussein.

Oh! It should also be known I got a Mikey Fuckin' Way t-shirt that night! I love it. It loves me. It's a happy thing we got goin.

Day 5:

In the wee hours of the AM, we checked out && headed our way to Detroit. Again, lots of 80's music and such, as that is by far the best music EVAR. Detroit seemed quite a bit scary, but by the end of this trip I liked it best.

We got to our hotel && they bumped us up to a suite. And I mean, it was a sweet suite. It was like the size of my house. So we settled in a bit && got ready, then headed to the bar on the first floor of the hotel to eat and, for me, chain smoke. When the time was right, we headed for the venue. I have to say, I loved the Detroit shows. I loved the venue, it was amazing inside.

TBH, I can't remember which night is which night. So I put them all here.

After the Detroit concert day 1, we went back to the hotel. This was not before we nearly lost our lives from MCR's tour bus driving past us when we weren't paying attention. Heather went down to the bar to get some more beer, and we drank while watching There's Something About Mary. We got fairly loaded, && Heather wanted to go to the bar to have a drink && I wanted to smoke, so we headed downstairs. After I sat outside awhile, Heather came out && told me to come in the bar && just sit. So we were sitting there && noticed a digital jukebox. With a dollar I went && found what else, Welcome to the Black Parade. I mean... OK, yeah it was a bar. And that's lame. But you know what? We were drunk && had done nothing but see and talk about MCR for three days straight. So there! There was also some KISS played, && other fun songs that are good to be drunk to.

Day 6:
Slightly hungover, we left the hotel in search for something to keep us occupied until the concert that night. We went a little out of Detroit && found a movie theater and shopping mall. Well, really, Gary TomTom took us to an abandoned one && then took us on a giant circle until we finally found it with some help from my mom via cellphone. But we went && saw Leatherheads, which was by far one of the MOST excruciatingly boring movies of all time. Then we went in the mall && got some grub before heading back to the concert.

We got to the venue && the parking man told us if we tipped him no one would vandalize the car. He also, later that night, asked to come with us && told us he'd get us backstage. Mmhmm. One parking man. Many, many interesting things out of his mouth. The show of course was kickass, && after seeing them four times in a row, I noticed with each concert Gerard got campier && campier. He was practically a cat in heat by this show.

We left the venue && for the last time, for me, headed on the road to get me to the Columbus station. We ended up in some very creepy town && all around it was a slightly bizarre trip, including getting pulled over && all, but I made it to the station with a little time to spare. The bus ride home was uneventful, but watching the sun slowly come up was a perfect ending to an awesome week.

So, after coming back to work a week && already ready to shoot myself, the time for Sarah && I to go see MCR in Philly finally arrived! We left yesterday morning && had a fun 'ol roadtrip complete with almost getting Rick Roll'd && realizing neither of us knew the words to "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Oh! We also dubbed the day, "Operation Chaos", because of some radio announcer who said that maybe 100 times in two minutes.

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

and saaaaarrrsssssssss.

We made it to Philly && walked around for something to eat. We found a slightly shitty Chinese restaurant, and sat for a bit before heading to the line, where everyone around us was about mid way through puberty. Ha!

Right before they let the doors in, we met up with our friend Neil && his girlfriend. We all went in and really... the Electric factory is fucking awesome. It looks like some underground club. I loved it. It was Sarah's first time in a bit, but she had the balls so we got right on in. We sat through Drive By, and they said My Chem was up next.

This is when it gets interesting.

I noticed they didn't uncover Bob's drums, but didn't think much about it once the lights dimmed. Then these guys came out wearing masks, && immediately I realized they were NOT MCR.

The lights were flickering, && they slowly removed their masks,...

It was motherfucking Taking Back Sunday! Seriously, I flipped the fuck out. Best. Surprise. Ever. I was so bummed Billy Talent was done on the tour, but this made it allllllll worth it. They were great, && this was the closest I have ever seen them. I know I say this with MCR, but I truly think this was the best I've heard TBS in a long time. I was so fucking stoked.

The MCR came out. It was magical as always. I was so stoked that the last time I get to see them in a good long while is with my best friend, && they were seriously amazing.

Sorry blurry!

So after the concert we headed home, which was an experience I won't soon forget. The highlights were are amazing games of KillMarryFuck && 20 Questions. It was an amazing day that was much needed && seeing MCR that many times in a couple of weeks has done nothing less than make me even more of an obsessed freak. Ha! But there you go, that was what I've been up to lately.

No comment, no add back. Simple as that.

If I've never talked to you, don't expect me to add you right away. And if I don't add you, don't ask why. Clearly no matter what you say will not make a friendship happen. Sorry.

And for the love of God, please don't comment saying "Oh Em Gee add me now!" if you're not a good friend of mine. Ask nicely or I won't do it.

I promise I'm not mean when it comes to adding people, I just don't like people being dicks about it.
